USC is exploring how AI is reshaping universities, from teaching and research to operations. The AI Strategy Committee is focusing on AI’s impact in the classroom. The first step is helping our teaching community make sense of what AI means for your teaching and your students’ learning. This resource page was created for that purpose.
No matter where you stand on using AI in your teaching—curious, cautious, or already diving in—you’re in the right place. We designed these resources with you in mind, to help you explore, make informed decisions, experiment with, or expand your use of AI in the classroom. There are options to explore on your own time, through private consultations, or together with colleagues.

Wherever you’re starting from, you’ll find real stories from fellow USC instructors, AI strategies you can adapt right away, and resources that respect both your time and your teaching values. This is your space to learn, reflect, and grow—with support every step of the way.
Curious about how AI might transform your teaching—or perhaps a little skeptical about it all? The AI in Education: A Resource Hub was created with both perspectives in mind. It’s not about replacing your expertise, but about offering thoughtful, practical ways AI can support and enhance what you already do best.
Developed in close collaboration with USC faculty, the Hub is an asynchronous space on Brightspace where you can explore at your own pace. It’s designed to help you sort through the hype, ask good questions, and decide what might support your teaching goals.
Inside, you’ll find guidance on topics like AI prompting strategies, assignment design, student support, and ethical considerations. You’ll also get a window into real-world experiments and innovations from fellow USC instructors. And if efficiency is your priority, you’ll see examples of how AI can lighten the load—automating repetitive tasks, generating rubrics, preparing lectures, and streamlining feedback.
Whether you’re cautiously curious or already experimenting, the Resource Hub gives you room to explore, reflect, and make your own informed decisions about how AI fits into your teaching.

This resource is built to meet you where you are—whether you’re curious about using AI in your teaching or cautious about its role in the classroom. The guide offers quick, practical starting points: pro-tip strategies, key considerations, and ready-to-use examples to help you save time, address common concerns, and design learning experiences that fit your goals. You’ll find flexible options for both incorporating AI and creating AI-free activities, so you can make informed choices that align with your course, your students, and your teaching philosophy.

At USC, your colleagues are engaging with artificial intelligence in many different ways—sometimes weaving it into assignments and classroom activities, other times raising important questions about its risks and limitations. In these short showcase videos, you’ll see both creative experiments and thoughtful cautions that reflect the realities of teaching with AI today.
These aren’t one-size-fits-all solutions. They’re opportunities for you to see how others are approaching AI, what strategies they’ve found useful, and how they are framing it within their own disciplines, so you can reflect on your own teaching and consider what role AI might play in your courses.

AI is becoming an integral part of higher education, and CET is here to help you make sense of what that means for your teaching. We offer private consultations for individuals and departments focused on the instructional and pedagogical use of AI.
Whether you’re exploring new ideas, designing an assignment, rethinking a program, or reflecting on how this technology intersects with your discipline, we’ll serve as a thought partner to support your instruction.
Our focus is on dialogue, not directives. Every conversation is tailored to your unique teaching context.
