Elham is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at USC. Elham Holds a BSc degree in Civil engineering from Sharif University of Technology in Iran where she also got her MSc degree in structural Engineering. She has also received a MSc degree in Electrical engineering at USC. Her PhD research focuses on designing a controller which can provide both structural safety and human comfort in case of strong and weak earthquakes, respectively.
In the past five years at USC, Elham has been TA seventeen times for different undergraduate and graduate courses in the Civil Engineering Department and also Department of Physics. Elham has received "The Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award" in the Department of Civil Engineering three years in a row (Academic years 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12); she received the “USC Award for Excellence in Teaching” for three consecutive years in 2012, 2013, and 2014 and has been nominated to receive "USC Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award" in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
