This online module is designed to orient new teaching assistants about grading and assessing your students' learning. You will find here video clips from faculty, undergraduate students and current TAs, as well as quizzes, helpful information and a place to provide feedback. We intend that people who study this website will be able to do the following:
- Differentiate, explain & give examples of formative and summative assessment
- Describe general principles of how to grade
- Explain importance of being fair, objective, and prompt
- Explain USC grading policies (e.g., student privacy policies)
- List strategies of dealing with student complaints about grading
- List resources and responses to academic dishonesty
