Office of the Provost:
Call for Fellows' Nominations, 2013 (.pdf)
Gene Bickers,
Vice Provost for Undergraduate Programs
February 27, 2013
The Faculty
University of Southern California
Dear Colleague:
I cordially invite you to nominate yourself or another faculty member to become a faculty fellow in the Center for Excellence in Teaching (CET). This position of distinction is awarded to exemplary educators who are willing to carry out CET’s work. Nominees must be committed to excellence and innovation in learning and teaching, to promoting successful learning across our campuses, and to organizing and participating in Center activities that advance those aims.
To be eligible for selection as a faculty fellow, a nominee must be a tenured full or associate professor or a full-time non tenure-track faculty member with at least five years of full-time teaching at USC. Selection of fellows is a merit-based process whose criteria include exceptional teaching achievement and an ability to engage other faculty in promoting pedagogical excellence and innovation.
CET faculty fellow appointments are for one year and are renewable for up to three years upon review; the appointment carries with it a stipend of $2,500 for each year of service. The stipend will be handled as an unrestricted research grant, but it is expected that in significant ways it will be used in the fellow’s pursuit of CET objectives.
Information about the Center's faculty fellows (including nomination procedures) can be found at these URLs:

The Center is currently accepting nominations for faculty fellows and will continue accepting nominations until the positions are filled. Duties for faculty fellows may begin as early as late July or early August 2013. Please direct any questions to Prof. Ed Finegan, CET director, at Finegan@usc.edu.
Please submit your nomination to: Faculty Fellow Nomination, Center for Excellence in Teaching, Grace Ford Salvatori Hall, Room 211 MC 1695 or usccet@usc.edu.
My hope is that our very best faculty will step forward to participate in the Center’s faculty fellows program, continuing to strengthen CET’s foundation of excellence.
Sincerely,
Gene Bickers
Vice Provost for Undergraduate Programs
