Dinah Lenney, an assistant professor in the Master of Professional Writing Program, joined the faculty in 2007. She's the author of Bigger than Life: A Murder, a Memoir, published in the American Lives Series at the University of Nebraska Press, and she co-authored Acting for Young Actors. Lenney has taught both acting and writing at colleges across the country and holds a BA from Yale, an MFA in Creative Writing and Literature from the Bennington Writing Seminars, and a Certificate of Acting from the Neighborhood Playhouse School. A working actor, she’s played on stage, film, and in television series too many to name. Her essays and reviews have been published in the The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, AGNI, Creative Nonfiction, The Los Angeles Review of Books, Ploughshares, and elsewhere, and she received special mention in the Pushcart Anthology 2010. Lenney’s second memoir, The Object Parade, will be published by Counterpoint Press in spring, 2014. She’s especially interested in participating in an ongoing conversation and collaboration between students and faculty across disciplines and departments, with a view towards making the most of our resources on campus and beyond.
