Ruth H. Chung is an Associate Professor in the Rossier School of Education. She received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from University of California, Santa Barbara. Her research expertise is generally in the area of acculturative process of Asian American immigrants, and more specifically the negotiation of identity in adolescents and young adults as well as intergenerational conflicts due to cultural differences. Chung’s pedagogical interest is in teaching statistics and research methods to be engaging and meaningful.
Chung is a recipient of a Fulbright research and teaching award to Korea, serves on editorial boards of research journals in the U.S. and in Asia, as well as being past board member of professional organizations such as Asian Pacific Americans in Higher Education (APAHE) and Asian American Psychological Association (AAPA).
